If there is a business school committed to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit, it has to be IE Business School. Our commitment is not limited to the classroom, or the entrepreneurship department, or the fact that IE Business School is itself the product of the entrepreneurial spirit, it forms an integral part of the day-to-day fabric of our school.
IE Venture Day 2009 aims to further strengthen that daily commitment by providing a unique opportunity for our entrepreneurial community to celebrate its passion for entrepreneurship and value creation.
IE Business School and Caja Madrid renewed an agreement to further build on Venture Lab’s achievements to date. Venture Lab aims to fund the development and consolidation of business start-ups proposed and launched by IE students and alumni. The agreement evidences Caja Madrid’s commitment to business development in Spain and worldwide, and the Venture lab will serve to strengthen the funding of past, present and future business projects.
Venture lab has consolidated the IE Business School and Caja Madrid alliance, and is yet another example of the admiration both organisations have for entrepreneurs, and their willingness to support entrepreneurship, a true engine for growth and social welfare.
It is my pleasure to welcome all participants to this event and to wish all participating teams luck in the IE Business Plan Competition.
